Monthly Meeting of District Road Safety Committee Organized Detailed Discussion Held on 11 Old and 4 New Cases Related to Road Safety

Karnal, 5 August:- Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma, a monthly meeting of the District Road Safety Committee was organized on Wednesday in the auditorium of the Mini Secretariat. In the meeting, detailed discussion was held on 11 old and 4 new cases related to road safety and necessary directions were given to various departments.
In the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner gave instructions in the matter of electricity wires at Araipura that the ADC BBM and PWD officials should visit and give a report. Instructions were given to complete the work going on Jundla to Hathlana road soon. Along with this, on the subject of Manjura to Hathlana road, he said that patchwork work should be done till the road is built.
He instructed that the work of widening the service lane near Jhilmil Dhaba on Kaithal bypass should be completed soon. He instructed the Municipal Corporation officer to repair the potholes at Noor Mahal Chowk. Along with this, the progress report of the work of widening the Namaste Chowk slip road should be presented.
In the meeting, RTA Vijay Deshwal informed that 36 thousand 924 challans were issued by the police in June 2026. During this period, a fine of Rs 40 lakh 88 thousand 600 was collected. He informed that last month 5337 for over-speed, 14965 for without helmet, 71 for drunk driving, 549 for without RC number, 374 for without license and underage, 1845 for without number plate, 2344 for lane change, 1730 for driving in wrong direction, 2013 for wrong parking, 676 for red light violation, 3173 for without third party insurance, 2402 for zebra crossing, 746 for without pollution certificate and 54 for without seat belt challans were issued. Apart from this, RTA issued 243 challans in June 2026 and collected a fine of Rs 1 crore 5 lakh 55 thousand 200.
By IDTR Karnal, 1396 people were registered for training in June 2026, out of which training of 1392 was completed. It was informed in the meeting that out of 133 hit and run cases in the district, 123 cases have been approved for compensation. Out of which payment has been made by GIC in 64.
In the meeting, ADC Dr. Rahul Raiya, SDM Nilokheri Ashok Kumar, SDM Asandh Sumit Sihag, SDM Gharaunda Rajesh Soni, CTM Suresh Kumar, RTO Vijay Deshwal, non-government members of the committee and officers of various departments were present.
