Memorandum Submitted by Shiv Sena Hindustan to Get Liquor Vend Closed in Front of Hanuman Jis Statue
Hoshiarpur:- Describing Hoshiarpur as the holy city of saints and great men, a delegation led by Shiv Sena Hindustan State Vice President Rajendra Rana submitted a memorandum to ADC General Gurpreet Kaur demanding immediate closure of the liquor vend and enclosure located just in front of the statue of Hanuman Ji on Manguwal Road and before Asha Devi Mata Temple.
Rajendra Rana said that running a liquor vend and enclosure just in front of a place associated with religious faith is playing with the sentiments of devotees. During the upcoming Navratras, a large number of devotees from different parts of the country including Punjab will reach this area. In such a situation, the administration should respect the religious sentiments of the devotees and take immediate action in this matter.
ADC Gurpreet Kaur Assured Immediate Action
Taking the demand of the delegation seriously, ADC General Gurpreet Kaur assured that necessary action will be taken by immediately talking to the Excise and Taxation Department in this regard. She said that if running the liquor vend at the said place is found to be improper as per rules, then it will be got closed immediately.
ADC General Gurpreet Kaur told the delegation that talks have already been held with the Excise and Taxation Department in this matter and the process of issuing necessary orders regarding immediate closure of the vend has been started. She assured that prompt action will be ensured in the matter.
Issue Was Also Raised in Meeting by MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa
Rajendra Rana said that during the meeting held with the administration in the morning, this serious issue was also prominently raised before the present MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa. He also took the matter seriously and gave instructions to the concerned officers to take immediate action regarding the said vend.
Rajendra Rana said that after the instructions given by the MLA and the matter being taken cognizance of by the administration, now necessary orders are being issued by the Excise and Taxation Department regarding closure of the vend. Rana expressed hope that the administration will take prompt action as per its assurance.
If Action Is Not Taken Then Agitation Will Intensify.
District President Rajinder Shinda said that Shiv Sena Hindustan has made it clear that any kind of tampering with the faith of devotees will not be tolerated. If despite the assurance given by the administration the vend is not got closed, then warning has been given to the present administration
The organization will start a phased democratic agitation.
Rajinder Shinda said that taking along all religious and social organizations, the agitation will be taken from dharna-protest to effigy burning protest and indefinite hunger strike. Shiv Sena Hindustan will strongly convey the voice of the public and devotees to the government and administration.
Rajendra Rana said that the administration has now assured immediate action in the matter and the organization hopes that by getting the liquor vend located in front of the statue of Hanuman Ji closed before Navratras, respect for the faith of devotees will be ensured.
