Manager suspended in case of fraudulent sale of land related to Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib Mohali orders for legal action issued

Chandigarh, February 4:- In the case of fraudulent sale of 1 bigha, 6 visbe, 10 visbasis land of Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib Patshahi Satthi Lamba Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali) in village Saini Majra (Premgarh) by cheating and cheating, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh Dhami has taken strict action and suspended the manager of Gurdwara Sahib S. Rajinder Singh and ordered legal action against the manager.
If any other person besides the manager is found involved in this matter, departmental and legal action will be taken against them too. A committee based on the members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has been formed for further investigation in this matter and the process of cancelling the registration done by the manager has also been started.
Regarding this matter, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said during a press conference at the Chandigarh sub-office today that no officer of the SGPC or the manager of the Gurdwara Sahib has the authority to sell any property related to the Guru Ghar at his own level. He said that if a Sikh organization wants to sell or buy any land, then this action can be taken only through the property sub-committee of the concerned Gurdwara Sahib after getting the approval of the internal committee as per the regular rules.
Advocate Dhami said that a five-member committee has been formed for further departmental investigation in this matter, which includes SGPC internal member Bibi Harjinder Kaur, Chief Secretary Sardar Kulwant Singh Manan, members Sardar Charanjit Singh Kalewal, Sardar Surjit Singh Bhittewad and Sardar Paramjit Singh Lakhewal.
He said that without any official approval, the manager of Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib Mohali, Sardar Rajinder Singh, has sold this land in village Saini Majra of Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib to 4 buyers, the registration of which was done fraudulently in the names of different people on 02 December 2025.
When this matter came to the notice of the office, an immediate investigation was conducted. During the initial investigation, it was revealed that the manager of Gurdwara Sahib, Sardar Rajinder Singh, himself prepared a forged letter on the office letterhead to obtain the rights, which he himself has admitted in writing. He said that the manager Sardar Rajinder Singh sold the land to 4 buyers and took four cheques of Rs 1 crore 32 lakh in return, which were cashed in his personal account. He said that it has also been found that Sardar Rajinder Singh has also collected crores of rupees in addition to this, about which no details were given to the investigation team, which is under investigation.
He clarified that there is no case or document pending with the SGPC for the sale of this place and no such decision has been taken. He said that no employee or officer who betrays the trust of the Guru Ghar will be spared. He said that after the preliminary investigation, the manager Sardar Rajinder Singh has been suspended and orders have been given to take legal action against him. He said that if any other person is found involved in this matter, strict action will also be taken against him.
He said that orders have been given to implement the process of canceling these registrations of the concerned land. He said that while the manager has defamed the institution, a huge financial loss has also been caused to the Gurdwara Sahib. Action is taken as per the prescribed rules by the SGPC for buying or selling any property of any Gurdwara Sahib.
He said that for this, approval is taken from the Inquiry Committee after the recommendation of the Gurdwara Sahib property sub-committee and after investigation of the Revenue Department of the office. After the approval of the Interim Committee, a sub-committee is appointed by the President, under whose supervision the sale of the property is done through open bidding.
Advocate Dhami said that during his tenure, it has always been his intention to increase the lands and properties of the Guru Ghar and under this, many new lands have been purchased. He strictly admonished all the officers and employees serving under the management of the Shiromani Committee to perform their duties with complete honesty and said that if any officer or employee is found guilty of corruption or any matter, he will not be spared under any circumstances.
On this occasion, the Interim Committee member of the Shiromani Committee, Sardar Gurpreet Singh Jhabbar, Chief Secretary Sardar Kulwant Singh Manan, member Sardar Ranjit Singh Kahlon, Deputy Secretary Sardar Lakhbir Singh, Sardar Jaskaran Singh, Sardar Ranjit Singh Jalandhar were present.
