Hansi: Under the guidance of DC Rahul Narwal and in accordance with the directives of SMO Dr. Rahul Buddhiraja, an HPV vaccination awareness program was organized at Manavati Kanya High School, Hansi, as part of the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' (Save the Daughter, Educate the Daughter) campaign. The objective of the program was to raise awareness among adolescent girls regarding the prevention of cervical cancer and to foster social consciousness against social evils such as female feticide.
During the event, a team from the Health Department provided detailed information to girls aged 14 to under 15 years regarding the importance of HPV vaccination. The team explained that the HPV vaccine plays a crucial role in protecting against serious diseases like cervical cancer, and that timely vaccination can safeguard the health of young girls. The students were also encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle, undergo regular health check-ups, and remain vigilant about their well-being.
A special awareness message regarding the prevention of female feticide—a key component of the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign—was also delivered during the program. The Health Department team stated that the department is actively working to sensitize society about the detrimental consequences of female feticide by organizing meetings with principals and teachers across various schools in the city. The team made it clear that if any individual is found to be involved in pre-natal sex determination or female feticide, strict legal action will be initiated against them.
During the program, Jeet Ram (MPHW) provided detailed information on various aspects of HPV vaccination and the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign, emphasizing that the health, education, and safety of daughters constitute a collective responsibility of society. He appealed to parents to remain vigilant regarding their daughters' health and to provide them with opportunities to excel in every field.
In her address, Dr. Tamanna, Principal of Manavati Kanya High School, stated that we must all resolve not merely to give birth to daughters, but also to educate, empower, and make them self-reliant. He stated that a bright future for daughters can be ensured, and positive change can be brought about in society, only through education, healthcare, and empowerment.
