District Red Cross Society Organizes Blood Donation Camp in Collaboration with Lovely Foundation and Unify Healthcare

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 25 May:- Under the patronage of the Deputy Commissioner-cum-President of the District Red Cross Branch, the District Red Cross Society, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, organized a blood donation camp in collaboration with Lovely Foundation and Unify Healthcare, Sector-83, Mohali. During the camp, the employees of the company donated blood with great enthusiasm, and a total of 158 units of blood were collected by the team from the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector-32, Chandigarh.
The Secretary of the District Red Cross Society, Mr. Harbans Singh, informed that this blood donation camp is organized every year by the Lovely Foundation in memory of the late Smt. Lovely Kapoor.
He stated that every healthy individual can donate blood after every three months, and doing so does not cause any deficiency in the body; rather, it maintains good health. He added that there is no substitute for blood and "the only medicine for blood is blood itself." Therefore, every healthy individual between the ages of 18 and 60 must donate blood, as blood donation is the ultimate donation.
On this occasion, Mr. Pankaj Sharma and Sachin Sharma, along with the employees of the District Red Cross Society, were also present.
