Bangladesh refuses to play T20 World Cup in India ICC rejects demand for alternative venue
Dhaka: Bangladesh Cricket Board President Aminul Islam Bulbul today made it clear that he will not send his team to India for the T-20 World Cup. Although the International Cricket Council has rejected Bangladesh's appeal to hold matches outside India, the Bangladesh Cricket Board is adamant on its decision.
Bulbul said that we want to play the World Cup but not in India. He has cited Mustafizur Rahman's exclusion from the IPL and India's attitude on the issue of minorities as the main reasons for this decision.
Bangladesh government's sports advisor Asif Nazrul also targeted the International Cricket Council, saying that the council has failed to address their security concerns. Bangladesh has demanded that their matches be held in Sri Lanka.
It is worth mentioning that Bangladesh's first match in this tournament, which starts on February 7, is scheduled against the West Indies at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. But now due to the increasing tension between the Bangladesh Cricket Board and India, a question mark has been put on Bangladesh's participation.
