Jalandhar 05 February 2025- Padma Shri and Arjuna Award winner wrestler Kartar Singh and sports promoter Mr. Amolak Singh Gakhal said in a joint statement that late Naseeb Singh Gakhal used to wrestle in his youth. In his sweet memory, wrestling competitions will be organized on 18 and 19 October in the beautiful stadium of his native village Gakhal.
In these wrestling competitions, India's top wrestlers will show their wrestling skills. These wrestling competitions will be organized in a very planned manner under the supervision of Punjab Wrestling Association. He said that the wrestlers securing first, second and third positions will be given cash prizes of Rs 5, 3 and 2 lakhs respectively by the Gakhal family along with beautiful trophies.
Padma Shri Kartar Singh and Advisor to Punjab Wrestling System Prof. Rajinder Singh said that we appreciate the thinking and passion of Mr. Amolak Singh Gakhal. Who believes that sports is the only medium through which a healthy society can be built. To fulfil this aspiration these wrestling competitions are being organised.
