In today's times, the violent tendency in humans has increased to an alarming level. The major concern of the whole world is the increase in the number of aggressive acts day by day. If we look at the statistics, the youth are the most affected by this tendency. Moral qualities like tolerance, restraint, forgiveness and compassion are decreasing or disappearing among people. The youth are committing violent acts without paying attention to the law. News of shootings, robberies and sexual crimes in schools comes from all over the world. This is a sign of the mental unrest of the youth. There can be many other reasons for this mood such as a neglected and abused childhood, the company of friends with violent tendencies, the influence of anti-social elements, economic conditions and the person's surroundings. While going about our daily lives, we often see such incidents. If someone's vehicle gets into a serious collision with another's vehicle, the first reaction is to abuse and beat them up. Usually, minor arguments in the neighborhood often turn into fierce fights and sometimes lead to fatal consequences.
If we mention some of the incidents that have happened in Punjab in the past, the murder of a social influencer from Ludhiana, Kanchan Rani, and similar threats received by some other people are prominent among them. Social media and the mobile phones that have come into everyone's hands have badly affected our social fabric. This has spread crime and lasciviousness. Obscenity cannot be accepted in any form. Punjab is the holy land of Gurus, Pirs and warriors. It is not right to promote nudity and lasciviousness here. But if we talk about solving it with murder or threats, then this is also not a sign of a civilized society. Today, the country runs according to a judicial system, law and constitution. This is not the time to make judgments and decisions on your own like a rag and a living rag. The end of this is nothing but the destruction of many families and lives. We should have faith in the law of the country.
Our country's judicial system is always prone to delay. There is a common saying that "Justice delayed is justice denied". This is true to some extent in our judicial system. There is a poem by the late Punjabi poet Dr. Surjit Patar.
"In this court, people have scattered, they have dried up while listening to the decisions
Tell them to go to their desolated homes now, how long will they stand here."
When a person gets tired of waiting for justice for years, it is also tantamount to denying justice. Especially in criminal and civil cases, this long wait further increases the suffering and anguish of the victims. Delayed decisions reduce the meaningful impact of the legal system and reduce the fear of the law in the minds of the wrongdoers. Today, mobile phones have come within the reach of every rich and poor. While it is a source of mutual communication and knowledge, obscene content is also easily available on it. Today's youth is either indulging in immorality in the name of making reels or is getting addicted to watching and listening to it.
The government should issue strict laws and guidelines in this regard. There should not be freedom of shamelessness in the name of freedom of privacy. Our country has its own moral image. It needs to be protected.
